Hook-ed! NOPD Cuffs Prostitutes , Releases Many Mugs         Responding to a reported "uptick in crime" in the East and Mid City, New Orleans Police launched a three day prostituion sting. The operation netted eleven arrests (although two of the women were actually arrested twice during the three day sting). NOPD released photos of all of the female suspects (provided after the jump).
The operation was concentrated in the troubled area identified as 6000 block of Chef Menteur and Tulane from South Galvez to Jeff Davis.
In Louisiana, a first time offender for prostituion can be fined for a maximum of 500 dollars, imprisoned for six months, or both. The second offense carries a much harsher penalty: a fine between 250 and 2000 dollars, up to two years in prison (with the option of hard time) or both. Scroll down to see all the pics. |
