Big Time Bust Shutters Hollygrove Bar

Last call came early at a Hollygrove bar last night. Authorities stopped the drinks from flowing after a raid at Big Time Tips Bar that yielded 15 arrests. State agents and cops from five agencies entered the bar late last night and arrested one man with crack, marijuana and other paraphernalia, and found "numerous bags of marijuana throughout the bar," according to New Orleans police. The bar, located at 8801 Edinburgh St., was a known drug dealing spot, and there was a murder inside the bar in December.

The bar received a total of 10 violations from the State Alcohol and Tobacco Control unit, and two from the State Police gaming division. The bar's liquor license was temporarily revoked as a result, and a hearing is planned next week that could take the bar's license away for a year.

Authorities detailed the following crime stats via Project NOLA at the bar since 2007:  four homicides, four accounts of aggravated battery involving shootings and stabbings, two armed robberies, auto theft, and the location was once shot by a drive-by.
