Grand Isle: 18 Lbs. of Pot Beached

The Gulf of Mexico is known for suspicious materials, but the most recent chemical discovery is legal to smoke in two states. Over 18 pounds of "suspected marijuana" washed ashore yesterday, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. The hefty bag of pot was recovered from the shoreline of the Grand Isle State Park.

Sheriff Craig Webre and Grand Isle Police Chief Euris DuBois reported the discovery, and members of the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force are investigating. The LPSO Water Patrol team, as well as the Port Fourchon Harbor Police are also patrolling the shores for more clues.

NoDef will update the story as more details become available.
