Former Cash Money Millionaire B.G. Gets 14 Years in PrisonA judge shipped one of the original Hot Boys to the Big House today. B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in prison today by U.S. District Judge Helen Berrigan, according to U.S. Attorney Jim Letten's office. The 28-year-old, who along with Juvenile, Lil Wayne and Turk formed the early Cash Money Records supergroup Hot Boys, pled guilty to gun possession and obstruction of justice charges last year.
B.G. - born Christopher Dorsey - and two others were arrested on gun charges during a 2009 traffic stop. Later, Demounde Pollard signed a false affadavit stating B.G. and Jerod Fedison did not have guns during the stop. That action earned the obstruction of justice charge.
In addition to the 2009 case, B.G.'s sentence stemmed from prior felony drug convictions from 1998 through 2003. Dorsey will face three years of supervised release after getting out of jail.
Fedison was sentenced to 20 years in prison as part of the case, while Pollard was ordered to serve 30 months.
The spell in the cell won't be kind to the hip-hop career of B.G. - short for Baby Gangsta. The Uptown native showed signs of a resurgence with 2010's Money Side: Murda Side solo mixtape, and a collaboration with Lil Boosie called 225 504. By 2011, Boosie was serving an eight-year sentence on drug charges, and B.G. was entering a guilty plea.
