ESPN: Brees, Saints Agree to Record Contract

Our long vigil for a Drew Brees contract appears to be over. ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting Brees and the Saints inked a five-year contract this morning to keep the record-breaking Quarterback as the focal point of the Who Dat Nation. According to Mortensen, Brees' guaranteed take in the deal is an NFL record $60 million, and the total pricetag on the contract is $100 million. Full story here.

Just for kicks, here's some other things in the news today worth $100 million: a Canadian Causeway across the St. Lawrence in Ottowa, Mitt Romney's June fundraising take,  Google's acquisition of the startup, Meebo Messenger, a Pentagon fund designed to speed up arms exports to U.S. allies and Manchester United Football Club's desired IPO value.
