Endymion Crash Suspect Faces 22 Additional Charges

The NOPD Traffic Fatality Team charged Neilson Rizzuto, the driver behind the crash at the Endymion parade this weekend, with 22 additional charges on Wednesday, stated the Police Department

Rizzuto is charged with 10 new counts of first degree vehicular negligent injuring and 12 counts of vehicular negligent injuring, bringing his current count to 26 charges following Saturday night’s incident. Following these new charges, Rizzuto’s jail bond tripled from $125,000 to $420,000.

25-year-old Rizzuto was arrested after his vehicle struck 28 parade-goers at the intersection of North Carrollton and Orleans Avenue during the Krewe of Endymion’s parade. Police said that Rizzuto’s blood alcohol level was .232% — nearly triple the legal limit.

The investigation is ongoing, and all victims are reported to be in stable condition.
