Driver Shot and Killed on Interstate


A 31-year-old man was killed this morning, May 23, on US 90 B at the Broad Street Overpass, around 4:45am. Responding to a traffic call, Sixth District officers discovered a black Infiniti Coupe covered in bullet holes, with the victim in the driver's seat. 

 

The vehicle was discovered after having struck a concrete barrier on the interstate. Emergency medical technicians pulled the man from his seat, at which point they discovered multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Homicide Detective Joseph Jefferson is leading the investigation, and anyone with information that could help solve the crime can call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111. Callers can give tips anonymously, and they can receive up to $2500 in cash for submitting information.
