Defender Picks

Culture Collision Comes to NOMA

Amidst a storied setting, there will be a great ruckus And it will happen before the titans of the Saints and Packers even step onto Lambeau. To kick off the fall season, the 3rd N.O. Culture Collision will bring together 50 visual art and performance orgs from around the city Wednesday night at the New Orleans Museum of Art. The event, which starts at 5 p.m., offers a chance to find out what all these different entities do, where they have shows and plot out how you can better spend that limited amount of time that doesn't require working.

Many of the old favorite organizations will be on hand (Louisiana State Museum, Southern Rep), but the event is really a chance to explore those entities that you've always read about on NOLA Defender, but never really explored. Ever wonder who the five families of the New Orleans Craft Mafia were? Want to see how the Chard Gonzalez Dance Theater is moving? Now is your chance.

And, there will be free specialty drinks and food.

If three hours isn't enough mingling, there will also be an after party in the NOMA Sculpture Garden immediately afterward, featuring more specialty drinks.

I get the feeling that Mitch

I get the feeling that Mitch won't have the NOPD or the Quality of Life police raid this one.
