Crescent City Crime BitsBy Ian Hoch In this week's highlight of lowlifes, a young man had his pizza pilfered, there was a laceration on the Lakefront, and one mother stabbed her son in the back. Altercation Leads to Cutting 5:45 p.m., 2100 block of Cypress Acres A 57 year old man was arguing with a female when she produced a weapon and cut him twice on his wrist and once on his leg.
Pizza Plunder 8:45 p.m, 10100 block of Curran Blvd. A 27 year old employee of Domino’s Pizza was delivering a pie when he was approached by a black male wielding a gun. The perp demanded cash - and the pizza – before fleeing into the night.
Larceny, Laceration on the Lakefront 9:16 p.m., 10500 Hayne Blvd.: A 26 year old woman was approached by a unknown black male who demanded her purse at knifepoint at cut the victim’s hand before fleeing the scene.
Monday, August 13
Domestic Dust-up 1:15 p.m., 600 block of Independence St A 20 year old male was having an argument with his 47 year old mother – she later threw a knife into his back, leaving a four inch gash. She was later arrested and booked on Aggravated Battery.
Stickup in the East 6:39 p.m. 8100 block of Aberdeen Rd.Two males, aged 20 and 24, were walking down the street when they were approached by an unknown black male who produced a handgun and demanded the victims’ property. After receiving cash and a cell phone, the crook fled on foot.
Fight Leads to Stabbing 7:39 p.m., 800 block of Lamarque St. A 31 year old woman was fighting with another woman, whom she knew, when the suspect produced a knife and cut the victim badly on her neck and arm. The victim was taken to University Hospital in an ambulance for treatment.
Daiquiri Grab 11:24 p.m., 6300 block of Elysian Fields Ave Three armed black males stormed into Daiquiris and Company demanding money from the three employees inside. After retrieving cash from a safe, the perpetrators fled in an unknown direction.
Mugging in MidCity 12:21 a.m., 3000 block of Palmyra St A 31 year old male was exiting his vehicle when two black males, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached him demanding money. After receiving cash from the victim, the perpetrators fled in a vehicle.
Wednesday, August 15
Bullet to the Butt, 11:04pm, 4100 block of Gibson St., The victim was standing outside when approached by an unknown gold vehicle. The driver shot at the victim, hitting his buttocks and his right foot.
Marigny Masturbator, 9:30am, Intersection of Royal and Frenchmen An unnamed female resident of the Marigny called the police to report seeing a 29 year old Trevis Barber masturbating in his vehicle outside of her house. The police arrived at the scene and tried to stop Barber, but he refused and sped the wrong way down Frenchmen St, crashing his car into a minivan at Royal St. near Christopher Inn. A pedestrian chase ensued, and Barber was apprehended shortly thereafter.
