Armed Robbery in West Lake Forest: 12:30am, 6800 block of Parc Brittany Blvd. In New Orleans East, the victim, a 19-year-old female, was approached by five unknown black males in a parking lot. They demanded her phone and money. The perps then made the victim go into her residence and demand money from her two female friends.
Armed Robbery of Rally’s: 2:47am, 2200 block of S. Claiborne. An unknown black male with a towel over his face approached the window of Rally’s and demanded all the money from the register. The employee complied and then ran to the back of the business. The perp fled in an unknown direction.
Shooting in Algiers: 11:46am, 400 block of Lamarque. The victim, a 24-year-old male, and a female friend were talking when an unknown male got out of a blue Jeep armed with a handgun. The suspect demanded the victim’s money. The victim was shot in the buttocks, and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Murder in Gentilly: 12:41pm, 2400 block of Pressburg. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, approximately 30 years of age, lying on the ground, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Hit and Run Fatality: 5:49pm, 4900 block of Alcee Fortier Blvd. The female victim was fatally hit by a car while she was standing by the trunk of her parked car. The subject fled after hitting the victim with his car, and returned later. He was booked with vehicular homicide.
Fatality on I-10W: 11:42pm, I-10 West and West End Exit 231 B. A 23-year-old woman was driving in a black Ford Explorer and attempting to exit the interstate when, for reasons unknown, left the roadway and struck a wall, causing a utility pole to detach from its base. She was ejected from the car and struck by the falling pole. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

Robbery of Ex-Girlfriend: 1:02am, 3223 Trafalgar. The victim arrived home to find her ex-boyfriend inside her residence. Several items were missing. After a brief struggle, the ex-boyfriend fled.
Murder in Village De L’Est: 6:13am, 14401 Peltier Drive. Units responded to a female down in New Orleans East. Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying in the breezeway with multiple gunshot wounds to the back. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Fire at Grand Palace Hotel: 8:24pm, Canal Street and S. Claiborne. Two-alarm fire broke out in the upper floors of the abandoned hotel, which is scheduled for demolition on July 22nd at 8:00am. During the fire, debris fell from the building, forcing the I-10 to close both ways. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Murder on St. Claude Bridge: 11:25pm, St. Claude Bridge. Units responded to a call of a male down. Upon arrival, officers found the 35-year-old victim lying face up in the middle lane, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Car Burglary in Gentilly: 12:48am, 3300 block of Annette Street. A car stereo was taken from the interior of an unsecured car.
Attempted Car Burglary in Gentilly: 12:54am, 3300 block of Allen Street. A man saw an unknown black male about to enter his mother’s parked car, when the man yelled at the subject. The subject fled.
Car Burglary in Gentilly: 1:00am, 200 block of Warrington Drive. A cell phone was taken from the interior of a parked car. No signs of forced entry.
Car Burglary in Gentilly: 1:30am, 200 block of Warrington Drive. A handheld video game system was taken from the interior of a parked car. No signs of forced entry.
Car Burglary in Gentilly: 2:30am, 4600 block of Lafaye St. The contents of a parked car were rummaged through, but nothing was reported missing. No signs of forced entry.
Car Burglary in Gentilly: 3:00am, 4400 block of De Montluzin St. A glock handgun was taken from the interior of a parked car. No signs of forced entry.
Armed Robbery in Tulane Area: 10:30pm, Audubon and Burthe Streets. A Tulane Student was walking when she was approached by an unknown black male wearing a gray hoodie and a bandana around his face. The perp produced a silver handgun and ordered the victim to drop her purse and run. The victim complied. The suspect grabbed the purse and fled.

Armed Carjacking in Tulane Area: 12:24am, 1800 block of Audubon Street. The victim was sitting in her car while parked when she was approached by an unknown black male wearing a black ski mask. The perp produced a small silver revolver and demanded the victim to exit her vehicle. The victim pleaded with the subject as he gave instructions to a second black male standing in the dark. The victim got out of her car, and the first perp entered the car and fled the scene. The second black male suspect entered a tan older model car and fled. The perps made good on their escape. Police later recovered the victim’s car.
Murder in St. Claude: 5:15pm, 3800 block of North Johnson Street. A 28-year-old man was killed in a shooting inside of a home. He was shot once to the head and died on the scene.
Murder, Suicide in Lower Ninth Ward: 7:25pm, 700 block of Tricou Street. A 32-year-old man shot and killed his 32-year-old female acquaintance, then fatally shot himself. Both victims died on the scene. The motive is still under investigation.
Armed Carjacking in Gentilly Terrace: 10:07pm, Verbena and Lotus Streets. The victim was getting groceries from her car – a 2006 grey Chrysler 300, license plate SQS847 – when she was approached from behind by an unknown black male. The suspect pointed his gun at the victim and demanded her car keys. A second suspect grabbed the victim by the shirt and demanded the keys. The victim complied. The subjects go into the victim’s car and took a right (south) on Lotus Street, then picked up a third subject, then fled right (west) on Gladiolus Street.

iPhone End-Around in French Quarter: 2:30am, 500 block of Bourbon Street. The victim, a 21-year-old female, was standing in the French Quarter when she was approached by three unknown black males. One suspect snatched the victim’s iPhone from her hands and passed it to the second suspect. When the victim attempted to retrieve her phone, the second suspect passed it to the third, who fled on foot. The victim flagged down officers, who apprehended two of the suspects: Karron Johnson, 18, and Elwin Decay, 18.
Unclassified Death at Hotel St. Marie: 7:23am, 827 Toulouse Street. The maintenance man entered the hotel room to clean the restroom and found the victim, a 25-30-year-old woman, unresponsive.
Aggravated Domestic Burglary: 10:19am, 4651 Coronado Drive. In New Orleans East, 52-year-old Glenda Davis forced her way inside the residence and armed herself with two knives. She began fighting with the two victims and trashing the home. Both victims fled the scene. The perp broke the windshields on both vicitms’ cars.
Stabbing in Algiers: 3:56pm, 3603 Garden Oaks Drive. The victim and the arrested subject, 22-year-old Tabatha Garner, were involved in a verbal altercation, when the victim grabbed Garner around the neck. Garner retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim in the leg.
Suicide: 5:47pm, 1610 Robert E. Lee. The victim’s parents hadn’t heard from their son since July 4, 2012. Units responded on a wellness check and found the victim with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Shooting in Iberville Projects: 9:56pm, 1428 Bienville Street. The 19-year-old male victim was walking when two unknown black males approached the victim and opened fire. The victim was shot once in the abdomen, and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and passed away on Monday.

Cab Driver Murdered in Pines Village: 5:33am, 6000 block of Downman Road. A 44-year-old male cab driver was shot and killed during a robbery in New Orleans East. Police received a call of unknown trouble in the rear parking lot of an apartment complex. Officers found the cab driver dead inside of his cab with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Armed Robbery in Gentilly Terrace: 11:35am, Humanity Street and Elysian Fields Ave. The victim, a 57-year-old man, was walking when a white four-door sedan pulled up next to him. The passenger got out of the car, produced a handgun and ordered the victim to get down on the ground. Once the victim laid down, the driver exited the car with a handgun, and demanded the victim to stay on the ground. One of the suspects went into the victim’s pockets and removed his money. The two perps got back in the car and fled on Humanity towards Franklin Ave.
Shooting in Pines Village: 8:01pm, 6200 block of Morrison Road. In New Orleans East, the victim, a 30-year-old man, approached an unknown male, with whom the victim had an ongoing dispute. The unknown male began shooting at the victim, hitting him in the upper chest. The victim was taken to the hospital by private conveyance with non-life threatening wounds.
Shooting in Bayou St. John: 8:09pm, N. Dupre and Orleans Ave. The victim, a 31-year-old man, was standing in the area when he was approached by a black male with a gun. The suspect opened fire. The victim ran. The victim relocated to the 600 block of S. Salcedo where he realized he sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
Armed Robbery on Maple Street: 10:05pm, 7600 block of Maple Street. The victims, a 33-year-old woman and a 34-year-old woman, were about to enter their parked car on Maple Street near Fresco’s Café when three unknown black males exited a dark colored vehicle parked in front of the victims’ car. One of the perps produced a black handgun and shouted demands at the victims. Both victims ran away. The female victim dropped her purse to the ground. The suspects retrieved the purse, then fled in the dark colored car, making good on their escape. The suspects are described as 20-25-years-old.
Armed Carjacking in Fontainebleau: 10:40pm, 7700 block of Nelson Street. The victim, a 36-year-old man, was getting out of his car when he was approached by two black males, one armed with a handgun. The perp with the gun said, “Give me the keys.” The victim complied. The perps fled in the victim’s 2006 Toyota Camry, LA license plate REA166.

Crossdressing Robbery in French Quarter: 2:30am, 800 block of Toulouse Street. The victim, a 49-year-old man, was walking when he was approached by an unknown black male dressed as a female. The suspect struck the victim and attempted to take the victim’s wallet. The victim resisted. The suspect grabbed the victim’s iPhone from the victim’s pocket, then fled on foot. Responding officers apprehended the suspect, Danny Hill, 35.
Murder in St. Claude: 8:45am, 1900 block of Feliciana Street. The two victims, a 24-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, were found in a shot up black GMC Yukon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital where they passed away. One suspect was caught by K-9 units, and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment from the dog bite before being questioned by detectives.
Murder in St. Roch: 1:46pm, 2435 Arts Street. A 19-year-old male was shot and killed in the backyard of a residence. He was shot in the chest. A 17-year-old female friend of the victim suffered a graze wound to the right arm.
Armed Robbery in Gentilly Terrace: 2:25pm, 2200 block of Mandolin Street. The victim stepped out back of the business to take a break, when a green car stopped in the middle of the street. The passenger got out of the car, armed with a gun and said, “Give it to me.” The victim complied, giving $65 in cash to the perp. The subject got back in the car and fled eastbound on Mandolin, then southbound on Marigny Street.
Armed Robbery in Woldenberg Park: 9:17pm, 1 Canal Street. The victims, a 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were sitting on a bench near the river when they were approached by an unknown black male. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victims’ property. The victims complied, giving the perp their cash, hand bag, wallet and cell phones. The subject fled with the female victim eastbound through Woldenberg Park. Upon coming in contact with a tourist, the suspect released the female victim and fled in an unknown direction.
Armed Robbery in Carrollton Neighborhood: 10:58pm, 7700 block of Spruce Street. The victims, a male and female, were robbed by three black males, one armed with a handgun. Taken were the victims’ cell phones, wallets and $5 in cash.

Armed Robbery of Shell Gas Station: 5:52am, 9201 Airline Hwy. An unknown black male entered the Shell Gas Station in Hollygrove, armed with a handgun and the usual demands. The employee complied and the subject fled.
Armed Robbery in Filmore: 1:26pm, 1300 block of Crescent Street. Two women were sitting on their porch when two armed gunmen approached them and forced them inside their home. A third male victim at the residence opened the safe, giving the two gunmen savings bonds. The two perps fled the scene.
Shooting in Freret Neighborhood: 7:00pm, 2400 block of Valmont Street. The victim, a 19-year-old male, told police he was walking inside his home when a gunmen approached him and shot him one time in the hip.
Roommate Stabbing in Seventh Ward: 11:26pm, 2300 block of Pauger Street. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with his two female roommates. The two female roommates then held the victim down and stabbed him several times in the neck, back and rib cage. The victim was treated at the hospital.
