Crescent Wenches vs. Cajun Rollergirls

The Crescent Wenches lost to the fellow Louisiana derby team, the Cajun Rollergirls, on Saturday, September 21. The final score was 237-146, making it a relatively close bout. Brandon Robert captured the action.

The Big Easy Rollergirls took on the Cajun Rollergirls on Saturday, September 21, at the UNO Human Performance Center. The Big Easy presented a mash-up of their AllStars and the New Orleans Brass Roller Derby men’s league. This was their first bout back at the HPC after having played at the Lakefront Arena for most of the season because of renovations.

The Crescent Wenches started the night off against Houma’s Cajun Rollergirls.  The game was close at half, but the Crescent Wenches lost 237-146. The Wenches featured four new rookies in their first home bout: Hot Sauce, Wrecktaphy, TBD, and Pork Chop Slamwich.

The second bout was a mash-up of BERG AllStars and the newly-formed New Orleans Brass Roller Derby men’s league.  This was the first public co-ed bout BERG has ever played.  Even though it was a friendly matchup, the intensity was still there with teammates pitted against one another.

BERG will host try-outs next week, and will have their season closer next month against one of their toughest opponents this season, the Gotham Girls Roller Derby Manhattan Mayhem.  For more information, see BERG’s website.
