Candy Maps, Costume Contests, Parades, and More Tonight for Halloween

Now that you’ve gotten the Downtown rundown of what to do this Halloween, check out some block parties and parades Uptown, in Central City, and live music all over the city. Once you finish adding those last minute additions to your costumes, bring the kids to Cherokee for this year’s block party, head to Central City to participate or volunteer in the Faubourg Delassize Pumpkin Parade, or hit up the Central City Candy Map to find out who’s providing the grub.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show  Prytania Theatre (5339 Prytania)

Whether you’re going retro with your Halloween costume or not, you can do the time warp at the Prytania. Catch the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show Uptown tonight at 7:30 and 10pm.

'Ch'-illary Street Block Party (Cherokee and Hillary Streets, 5:30-7:30pm)

The sixth annual event gets its name from its destination, located in the 300-500 blocks of both Hillary and Cherokee Street as well as the 7500 blocks of the two cross streets, Pearl and Dominican. Bring the kids out to trick or treat!

Central City Trick or Treating (Faubourg Livaudais, 4pm)

Check out Uptown Messenger’s link to a Trick or Treat map of houses that will be giving out candy tonight in the Faubourg Livaudais area of Central City. Come out to a party at 2110 Fourth Street starting at 5pm with food, games, and a DJ!

Faubourg Delassize Pumpkin Parade (5:30pm)

Beginning in the parking lot of Christ Catholic Cathedral (2912 Carondelet), register and get your candy map for the Fourth Annual Pumpkin Parade in Central City. Anyone who brings canned food to donate will have their names put in a raffle for a turkey dinner kit, and volunteers are asked to arrive by 5pm.

 Halloween Extravaganza (Country Club, 5-8pm)

Locally loved tattoo artist Ms. Erato will be giving out FREE Body and Face painting 634 Louisa St. for the first three hours of the evening.  If you come in costume after 11pm, swim for free and save $8!

The Revivalists (One Eyed Jack’s, 9pm)

Come out and see New Orleans’ own Revivalists tonight on Toulouse, bringing their soulful, dance-able rock to the stage after The Scorseses open up the evening. Tickets are $10 online and $12 at the door.

Galactic (Tipitina’s Uptown, 9pm)

Tonight’s extra special Halloween show also features Corey Glover (of Living Colour) and Soul Rebels. The event is 18+, so you’re still free to enjoy the show even if you aren’t free to drink legally.

Walter "Wolfman" Washington and the Roadmasters (d.b.a., 10pm)

After the Matt Perrine trio finishes up their set, catch the Wolfman himself tonight on Frenchmen. Hear the Wolfman himself howl on the guitar and belt his soulful vocals throughout Frenchmen Street.

Molly's Halloween Parade (Molly's at the Market, 6pm)

Join the Monaghan's for their 17th Annual Halloween Parade! Come in costume and stop at Erin Rose to join the contest during the parade. Stroll through the Quarter and have a scary good time!

Bourbon Pub Halloween (The Bourbon Pub, All Night)

Come out and dance to DJ Sean Michael, and don't forget to get ghoulishly (and garishly) glammed up for the costume contest hosted by Jasmine Essex.
