The Cure Added to Voodoo Lineup

Post-punk heroes The Cure have been added to the Voodoo 2013 lineup, joining headliners Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, and Macklemore. More than 35 years into their existence, Robert Smith, the band’s shock-haired, glammed up front man is the only remaining member. But they continue to release new albums, every few years and dazzle on stage.`

The Cure most recently released their thirteenth studio album 4:13 Dream in 2008. However, most listeners identify the band with the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, when they released radio hits such as "Just Like Heaven," “Pictures of You” and “Friday, I’m in Love.” Less commercially popular songs from the band were known for shaping gothic rock, along with bands such as Joy Division and Bauhaus.

Locals to play this year include Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, C.C. Adcock & The Lafayette Marquis, Simon Lott, Alfred "Uganda" Roberts, Unicorn Fukr, Flow Tribe, Royal Teeth, Andrew Duhon, The Breton Sound, The Scorseses, and Paul Varisco and the Milestones.

For the first time in the festival’s history, Voodoo will take place on City Park’s new permanent festival grounds. This year’s festival takes place from November 1-November 3. Buy your camping passes for Voodoo 2013 here.
