Missing Gentilly Man Last Seen at Sailboat Dock

A local man went missing in Gentilly on Friday, March 1, at around 5:30pm. Police are seeking the public’s help finding Douglas Morris, last seen at The Pontchartrain Landing R.V. Park and Marina at (6000 France Road) walking to his docked sailboat. Morris was heading to his boat after leaving a party.

According to the NOPD’s Public Information Office, 54-year-old Morris “was last seen by his best friend,” walking in the direction of his boat. Morris’ friends have not heard from him in three days, and they said this is the first time he has gone missing without contacting anyone.

Morris is described as white, 6 ft. tall, and about 185 pounds. Morris was last seen wearing jeans and a beige jacket.

Anyone with information on Morris’ whereabouts is asked to call 821-2222.
