Blue Dreams

In the past few years, an influx of reopened venues resulted in a surge of touring bands adding the Crescent City to their itineraries. However, a couple of announcements are heralding some unconventional entertainment coming to town. The Blue Man Group will play the Sanger and “Kim The Happy Medium” will come to the Civic.

There will still be no Tobias, but the Blue Man Group is slated to perform from May 13th through May 15th. The cult favorites have been astounding audiences for 25 years with a constantly evolving show. While the details change, the eerie rhythms, onstage antics, and of course the hue remains the same.

“We live in a fast-paced, ever-evolving world. The Blue Man character is a curious being who explores our cultural norms, our every-day objects, but he sees them with fresh eyes and an innocent perspective. As the world around us changes, we are constantly inspired to create new scenarios for the Blue Man to explore,” said Phil Stanton, co-founder of Blue Man Group.

Tickets start at $25 and will be available at the Saenger Theatre Box Office,, all Ticketmaster outlets and by calling (800) 982-2787. Group sales are offered for groups of 10 or more and will be available by calling (504) 287-0372.

The Lifetime Movie Network’s Kim Russo will be at the Civic on Saturday (12.05). In the interest of journalistic integrity, we will simply let Russo explain her own purported abilities. Promotional materials explain, “Growing up, Kim often saw random spirits in her bedroom and sometimes felt their presence walking home with her from school.  Not knowing what they wanted, they scared her then. Now she is comforted by their presence, speaking to them more than she speaks to the living on some days.”

Tickets begin at $30 and can be purchased here.
