Big Oozy Update

By Stephen Babcock

To this point, a lot of the effects of the oil spill haven't been thrust in our collective faces. Surprise! (A source said the cause of the dolphin's death hasn't been determined, but you get the point.) While chained to our day jobs, we unpaid NoDef contributors have also been obsessively following Mother Jones reporter Mac Mclelland as she tries to break through the sound barrier down at Grand Isle. And for all you visual learners out there, we found this great graphic on the effects of the spill. Meanwhile, the powers-that-would-be were in Port Fouchon this morning talking about how sad they were to see all the oil, and some http://dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com/ " target="_blank">New Yorkers were talking about how Obama should take charge. We in South Louisiana politely remind them none of that would matter if they PLUGGED. THE. FREAKING. LEAK!
