Barman's Holiday

January in New Orleans is a month of rituals. Not all of them involve Carnival. On Tuesday (1.19), the Barman’s Fund will host their big annual soiree at the House of Blues (225 Decatur Street). Of course, there will be lots of drinking… for a good cause.

All of the proceeds (especially the tips) will be donated to A Child’s Wish of Louisiana. The charity helps critically ill children fulfill a life dream whether that means a trip to Disney World or a swim with the dolphins in Hawaii.

Music will be provided by Kidd Love and DJ Snow. As per protocol, the night will also feature prizes and raffles.

In short, the evening will offer an opportunity to drink with your favorite behind-the-sticks personalities and do some good in the process. Doors open at 7:00p.m. and the fete lasts until 12:00a.m. Admissionn is free and open to all.

Members of the Barman’s Fund raise money by contributing one shift a month in tips. There are chapters in New York City, Austin, TX, Charlotte, NC, and the Crescent City. Holly Williams created the New Orleans chapter in 2011.
