Barge, Levee Rendesvous in French QuarterA barge ran aground (or, alevee) in the Mississippi River near Jackson Square this morning, WWL radio reports. Judging from a picture the radio station posted on their website, the barge looked to have hit in the area of the Moonwalk between the Steamboat Natchez dock and the Gov. Nicholls Wharf, right before the bend in the River. Luckily, the accident didn't confirm Jackie Clarkson's worst fears, as no damage was reported to the levees or the transport vessel. Maybe the crew just wanted a beignet. |
