The Prytania is screening a classic Southern film this morning and across town, there is some classic Southern music. Locals will flock to the Square, Walter “Wolfman” Washington is on Frenchmen, Gravity A is at the Leaf, and Lightnin’ Malcom is bringing the thunder in Mid-City. Today in New Orleans, there’s plenty of music for enjoy! The Andrew Duhon Trio will jam at Carrollton Station, and its time for Walter “Wolfman” Washington’s Birthday Bash at the Maple Leaf. Over at Tipitina’s, catch the 4th Annual Anders Osborne Holiday Spectacular. You can also get your last minute Christmas shopping done at the Crescent Park Bazaar! Curtains open on the New Orleans Fringe Festival today bringing an extensive array of offbeat theatre to the city for your picking. Tonight at the Joy Theatre, the Suicide Girls reawaken their Burlesque after a five-year hiatus. Treme Brass Band brightens the Candlelight Lounge with their brass sounds and Walter “Wolfman” Washington brings it home at d.b.a. Back on this day in 2006, Drew Brees was setting the sixth highest throwing yard record of 510 yards during a loss to the Bengals at the Dome.

Bay Bridge Fest Brings Revivalists, Dumpstaphunk to MS

This weekend, New Orleans’ biggest bands head east for a festival by the beach.  The seventh annual Bay Saint Louis’ Bay Bridge Fest kicks off this Friday with the spirit revival, and it’s not just because of their headliner.
