We’re barely into the summer season, but folks looking for some sweet relief from the heat can turn their attention to the fall. On Tuesday morning, the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience revealed their lineup for the Halloween weekend (10.27-10.29) fete. Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, The Killers, LCD Soundsystem, and DJ Snake are just a few of the big names on the 2017 roster.

Anyone who ventured downtown last night can confirm that the Halloween festivities have hit a fever pitch. With the start of Voodoo Fest, costuming, consumption, and concerts are nearing peak levels. But, what about of those of us stuck in an office? Despair not! In 2015, the music will be live-streamed.

Voodoo Sunday

Photos from the Fest's Closing Day

The bands and fest-goers are packing up to head down the road Monday, as another edition of the Voodoo Music Experience is in the books. But before it all came down, NoDef photographer Lisa Cates was on the grounds to take in the Sunday scene. Peruse the fest photos below:

Big History Back at Voodoo

Electronic audiences are accustomed to one-man-shows, but local band Big History believes that soulful vocals, instrumentation, and synthy beats can co-exist. Sunday, November 3,  Amanda Wuerstlin, Meg Roussel, Blandon Helgason, Cory Schultz, and Matt Glynn are playing Voodoo for the second year in a row.

Voodoo After Dark: 11.1.13

Voodoo fest offers of plenty of onstage action at the Festival Grounds, but the party keeps going throughout the City, even after Pearl Jam is done for the night. From Panic to punk, check out some of tonight's highlights in the NOLA clubs and beyond:

Today in New Orleans 10.31.13

Prepare the clever DIY bike accouterments and costumes, NOLA Halloween is here. Quintron and Miss Pussycat are in the Quarter, Galactic is at the Civic Theater, and Voodoo Fest (not the Music and Arts Experience) is back for the 15 th year. On this day in 1985, Hurricane Juan made his first of two stops in Louisiana, causing days worth of torrential downpours. With this hurricane season on its way out, check out more frightful happenings this All Hallows’ Eve.

The Cure Added to Voodoo Lineup

Post-punk heroes The Cure have been added to the Voodoo 2013 lineup, joining headliners Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, and Macklemore. More than 35 years into their existence, Robert Smith, the band’s shock-haired, glammed up front man is the only remaining member. But they continue to release new albums, every few years and dazzle on stage.`

More Acts Announced for Voodoo 2013

After announcing 15 big names in April to honor the event’s 15th anniversary, Voodoo fest gave music fans pining for Halloween weekend dozens of new acts on Wednesday. National names like indie pop duo Matt & Kim are on the list, as well as locals such as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and The Revivalists.
