The event’s seminars cover everything from coffee to cognac, and some of the brightest minds in the industry are here to share their knowledge. One of these Big Leaguers of Booze is Claire Smith, Belvedere Vodka's Head of Spirit Creation and Mixology.

First Impressions: King Cake Vodka

This year, the wait for King Cake was augmented by the discovery of a new, adult beverage version of the Mardi Gras favorite. On New Years Day, word of King Cake vodka began to filter through the tubes of the Internet, and NoDef headquarters was stirred into a frenzy of curiosity about this new libation that seemed to unite our late Carnival nights with our late-morning Carnival hangovers. Turns out, the vodka was the brainchild by Florida-based company, Lucky Player, and will not arrive in New Orleans until later this month. However, we managed to comandeer a sample bottle to see if this new drink is worth the wait. Click through for the results.
