Perfect Gentlemen and Dignified Achievable Men & Women Second Line (Photos)



The annual Father’s Day second line was put on by The Perfect Gentlemen’s Social Aid & Pleasure Club along with The Dignified Achievable Men & Women Social & Pleasure Club (DAM). The paraders strut through Central City, stopping along the way for refreshments and “street-meat” straight-off-the-smokers that are resting on the backs of various pick-up trucks. The event featured TBC Brass Band, and started and ended at the historic Gladstone Bar & Lounge.

Father's Day is time for all men to shine. In Central City, it also means it's time for the Perfect Gentlemen to step out for their annual parade. On Sunday afternoon, the club heads out to the streets, wishing all a Happy Father's Day.

Suspect Student Snagged in Uptown Burglaries


The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) are on a roll. On Thursday (1.21), police locked up a 22-year-old Tulane student accused of perpetrating a series of home invasions Uptown.


Three Uptown Restaurant Stickup Suspects Behind Bars


On Wednesday (1.20) evening, police announced several arrests in connection with a string of Uptown restaurant stickups that shook the city in August of 2015. Three suspects are now behind bars and one suspect is at-large.


Man Still Missing After Christmas Party


A 47-year-old man enjoyed his Christmas Eve (12.24) at a friend’s party Uptown, but he has been missing ever since the fete according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD). Authorities are reaching out to the public for help finding him. 


Grinch Who Stole On Christmas


One woman’s yule-time joy was interrupted when she discovered that her uptown home was burglarized on Christmas Day (12.25). However, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) have a lead and are reaching out to the public for help capturing the grinch.


E-Z Bake


La Boulangerie (4600 Magazine Street) reopened today. The popular uptown bakery took a brief hiatus from business during a change in ownership. Breath easy, the bakery is still in good hands. Donald Link (Herbsaint, Cochon, Peche) and company are now running the show.


NOPD Snag Person of Interest in Uptown Restaurant Robberies


The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) reported a significant step in the effort to catch the crooks behind a string of Uptown restaurant robberies. A little after 11p.m., Dwayne "Butter" Winns, a personof interest in the case, turned himself in to detectives according to the Department.
