Today in NOLA 5.19.17

Today, Bayou Boogaloo kicks off in Mid-City. Go back to the 90’s with the Prytania’s midnight showing of Twin Peaks’ movie ahead of this weekend’s revival, or go experience the “Total Package” at the arena as NKOTB, Boyz II Men, and Paula Abdul all take the stage. Drag classic Priscilla, Queen of the Desert will be screened at NOMA’s Sculpture Garden. On this day in 1949, Elisha Archibald Manning III (better known as Archie) was born. Manning played for the Saints from 1971 to 1982 and sired two sons, Peyton and Eli. More on activities today after the jump.

Fire Walk With the Prytania at Their David Lynch Retrospective

Twin Peaks fans, that gum you like is coming back in style. Over 25 years after David Lynch’s cult classic series ended, the much-anticipated new installment will premiere on Sunday, May 21st on Showtime. In honor of the revival, the Prytania Theatre will screen several of the director’s best known works during a four-week retrospective.

Twin Peaks Breastaurants Coming to New Orleans Soon

Because Hooters is more about the wings, a bunch of other Brestaurants are on the rise. New Orleans is about to see the expansion first hand, when five new installments of Texas' own Twin Peaks let it all hang out in the metro area. Why is this happening? Well, if marketing slogans are worth anything, it's because "You're the Man." No word yet on where they'll be, but they're already promising "Scenic Views." Will David Lynch ever look at us the same way? (VIA)
