Hopefully, all y’all have fully recovered from Memorial Day break. Moving on: the Country Club is hosting SIN specials, Old 97’s are playing One Eyed Jacks, and more. On this day in 1818, PGT Beauregard, inventor and first prominent general of the Confederacy during the Civil War, was born in St. Bernard Parish. Now, more to do this Wednesday.


Today in New Orleans 4.25.14

Jazz Fest begins with hundreds of local artists, Santana at the Acura Stage, plus famous folk outfit, The Avett Brothers. Tonight at NOMA, there is a screening of Underground Railroad in conjuction with the museum’s show, “Photography and the American Civil War.” On this day in 1999, Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew were reunited on stage at Jazz Fest after 12 years. Now, more to do this Friday.

Tonight, head to Broadmoor to get your grub on with a rotating food truck series, or make groceries early in the morning at this week's Uptown Farmer's Market. NOLA Fashion Week: 9.29.13

The first day of shows for this season's NOLA Fashion Week kicks off today at the future Union Hotel. Designers Andi Eaton and Cami Leavitt are displaying their spring/summer 2014 collections. Vogue veteran Eaton is bringing Hazel and Florange back to the catwalk, with runway rookie Leavitt showcasing Camilyn Beth.
