Defender Picks

Play Ball!

Louisiana may not have a pro baseball franchise, but the Pelican State is dominant at the college level. Five teams from the state received seeds to the College Baseball World Series. Baton Rouge and Lafayette will each host regionals.

Miles Markers

Football season is getting closer which means that the soundbites from Les Miles are starting to flow again. This week, the LSU coach hit the airwaves to weigh in on the upcoming seasons and dispense the traditional Les Miles vacation report.

Purple n' Gold on the Greens

If you've been busy festing, you might be missing the Masters. This year LSU has been a huge presence in Augusta. Alumni Smylie Kaufman has been unabashed about his Tiger pride and he’s killing it.

Tigers' Time: LSU's Big Signing Day

LSU had a monster Signing Day on Wednesday (2.03). Rummel's Kristian Fulton, as well as IMG's Savion Smith and DrakeDavis have been dominating headlines for months, but from top to bottom, the 2016 class is a best. In fact, the Tigers placed in the top three of nearly every ranking of recruiting classes. (Unfortunately, so did Alabama).

Tiger TV

LSU baseball takes the mound in about a month and there will be plenty of opportunity to watch the Purple n’ Gold. For the second year running, all 56 of the team’s regular season games will be televised. (The post-season will, of course, also be televised, but that run has been short for the Tigers in the past two years).

Fournette's Consolation Prize

Leonard Fournette sixth place finish in the Heisman Trophy voting mirrored the disappointment of the LSU’s 2015 season. However, Fournette’s consolation prize is a bit better than the Tigers’ forthcoming trip to the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl. The NOLA native was named to the 2015 AP All-American First Team today.

The Quotable Les Miles

The Mad Hatter's Classic Quotes

The future of Les Miles' job at LSU is up for debate. However, there are some things about his past at the school that are certain, namely his quotes. Over the course of his tenure in Baton Rouge, the Mad Hatter was unrivalled as far as giving press. In honor of Miles' controversial career, NoDef offers up our favorite quotes from the man.

Les Mess Spurs Conflicting Reports

Les Miles has never been easy to understand. Deciphering the meaning of the Mad Hatter’s press conferences pressers and quips has been a nearly academic pursuit spurring different schools and factions. So, it is no surprise that experts are split on his latest comments. Miles may have announced his departure from LSU today… then again, he might not have.
