NOPD Releases Surveillance Footage of French Quarter Rape Suspect


The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Special Victims division released a surveillance video of an unknown male suspect in connection with a sexual assault in the French Quarter. As NoDef previously reported, the incident occurred during the early morning hours of April 16 on the 1400 block of Chartres Street. 


Lake Vista Snatching Suspect Sought


The affluent Lake Vista neighborhood is normally known for secluded yards and lots of banana trees. Yet, on Tuesday (9.15), the bucolic Lakeview subdivision was the scene of the City’s latest burglary according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).

Cameras are changing crime. On Friday (1.24), surveillance caught a hit and run collision on tape. Now, the New Orleans Police Department are searching for the suspect vehicle.


Second Man Killed by Police in 1-Week Span Was Unarmed, Chief Says

A man who investigators believe was unarmed was killed by a cop Wednesday in Gentilly while police were serving a drug warrant, according to NOPD. Around 5:30 p.m. yesterday in Gentilly, NOPD Narcotics task forces knocked on the door of a residence on 2651 Prentiss Avenue, declaring, “This is police. We have a search warrant.” There was no answer. According to police, the cops then broke down the door, and entered the house, which had been under surveillance for marijuana sale activity. Still no answer.
