Octavia Books Touts Walter Isaacson as Center of New Jobs Plan Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs was sold out of many stockrooms before even leaving the shelves. Tonight, Isaacson, a native New Orleanian, will make an appearance in Newto hawk some of the copies that somehow didn't find their way off the shelf. The chronicler of geniuses (Ben Franklin, Einstein, et.al.) conducted more than 40 interviews with the recently-deceased Apple CEO. Look for him to illuminate the man behind all the innovation, including appearances by those brutal employee lashings. If you don't want to hear the hero tainted, there's always earbuds. The event is at the JCC, 5342 St. Charles Avenue, and starts at 7 p.m. The Week in Business Tech: Oct. 3-10 The Silicon Bayou has been buzzing with tech and entrepreneurial news. Last week, the death of Steve Jobs hit hard at home, A few weeks ago SBN announced a call for nominations for the Silicon Bayou 100, a list of the “coolest people in tech and entrepreneurship.” The public is encouraged to nominate active participants and leaders in the local tech, entrepreneurship, and digital and social media world by this Saturday, October 15th, 2011.
