Akein Scott Arrested for Mother's Day Shooting


Akein Scott, the suspect who allegedly fired into a 7th Ward second line parade on Mother's Day, was arrested Wednesday night, according to NOPD. The 19-year-old was picked up in the Little Woods neighborhood, said officer Garry Flot, a police spokesman.


Monday Morning Murder on the I-10


Bullets flew on the I-10 in the early morning hours of Monday. In the end, one man was dead and another man was injured in an incident that apparently involved two separate cars, New Orleans police said. About 2:55 a.m., police received a call about multiple shots fired on the interstate in the westbound direction near the Metairie Road exit.


3-Year-Old Shot in New Orleans East


Update: 1:10 p.m.

A three-year-old boy was shot in New Orleans East Friday night, and New Orleans police made an arrest in the case. About 6 p.m., police were notified that the boy was shot in the hand in the 6000 block of Kuebel Dr. The shooting is being treated as an accident, police said.


NOPD Seeks Person of Interest in Mid-City Double Shooting


New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in locating and identifying a person who may have information about a late 2012 Mid-City shooting. The person (pictured) is not a suspect in the case, but may be able to help deteticves solve a Dec. 15, 2012 shooting at S. Gayoso and Palmyra St.


Man Killed in New Orleans East


New Orleans police are investigating a New Orleans East shooting that left one 28-year-old man dead. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 14000 block of Willowbrook Drive, officials said. The man’s name is being withheld pending the notification of his family.


Wounded NOPD Officer John Passaro Remains in ICU, Suspect at-Large


A New Orleans Police Department officer shot twice on Saturday morning remains in the intensive care unit, officials said Monday. John Passaro, a three-year veteran of the department, was wounded as he responded to an armed robbery at a Bywater Dollar General located in the 1100 block of Poland Ave. around 7:30 a.m.


Teen Shot Near Broad and Esplanade

A 17-year-old youth was shot Wednesday afternoon near a bus stop at the corner of North Broad Street and Esplanade Avenue, near John McDonogh High School, according to New Orleans Police.


Mid City Shooting Leaves One Wounded


Terror struck Mid City this evening. At approximately 5pm, shots rang out on the corner of Orleans and N. Rendon. One man is left wounded with a bullet wound in his hand.  


Mardi Gras Mayhem: 3 Shot on Bourbon Street During Carnival


Gunfire erupted on Bourbon St. Saturday night, injuring three people amd Carnival celebrations. According to NOPD, the shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Bourbon St.


Violent New Year's Day Begins 2013


The bang of fireworks turned to gunshots soon after the calendar turned to 2013 in the Crescent City. Factoring in an early morning Tuesday murder, a total of two people were killed and four were wounded in shootings in the first hours of the new year, according to police. An early-morning stabbing was also reported in the French Quarter area of Esplanade Ave. on Tuesday, NOPD said.
