Sex Workers to March for Rights in Quarter

One does not need to need a sociology degree to know that the sex industry plays a large role in New Orleans. A simple stroll down Bourbon Street will suffice. The Sex Workers Outreach Program, New Orleans (SWOP-NOLA) will stage a march on December 17 to raise awareness about the hazards faced by those in the business.

American Courtesans tackles the sex industry from the workers' perspective, offering a diverse range of experiences. The documentary was filmed in New Orleans, New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and a number of undisclosed locations.

Hook-ed! NOPD Cuffs Prostitutes , Releases Many Mugs

Responding to a reported "uptick in crime" in the East and Mid City, New Orleans Police launched a three day prostituion sting. The operation netted eleven arrests (although two of the women were actually arrested twice during the three day sting). NOPD released photos of all of the female suspects (provided after the jump).
