Chewbacchus' Intergalactic Fashion Show Returns

Calling all Wookiees, weeping angels, and wizards or any other sci-fi characters/species/things. The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus is hosting its annual sci-fi fashion show: Set Your Phasers to Stunning (SYPTS) on January 9th.

Krewe of Chewbacchus Fashion Show Phasers in Galactic Carnival

So Chewbacca, a Dr. Who Catkind Nun, and and some regular guy walk into a bar… because it’s time for the fourth annual “Set Your Phasers to… Stunning!” fashion show from the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus.  The sci-fi (and beyond) krewe won't take it to the street until Feb. 22, but they'll be stepping out in style on Saturday (1-25) at the Howlin' Wolf.

Today in New Orleans 12.01.12

Get your credit cards out, Jazz Fest tickets go on sale this morning! Once you’ve gotten your discounted passes, fan out all over the city for Comic Con, and you’re your costume to check out great live music at the Maple Leaf. On this day in 1998, New Orleans lost Big Chief Donald Harrison Sr. Now, more on what to do this Saturday.

Chewbacchus Brings Fandom to Fashion

Take out your light sabers, the wookie calls: it’s Chewbacchus time!  Saturday, these oversized ewoks strut down the intergalactic catwalk along with friends like dead-beat dad Darth Vader, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke’s prize pet R2-D2 for the third annual “Set Your Phasers to Stunning” Fashion Show.

Chewbacchus Chic: Intergalactic Krewe's Fashion Show to Strut on the Spacewalk

by Brad Rhines

Expect the Big Top to look more like the Mos Eisley Cantina this weekend, as the sci fi-curious members of the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus are set to step out with “Set Your Phasers to Stunning,” a fashion show for the Queen Amidala in all of us. The Mardi Gras krewe's coming-out event gives krewe members a chance to show off their costumes, and provides an opportunity for the rest of NOLA’s drunken nerds to join in on the fun. With a bigger, longer, more prominent Krewe of Chewbacchus on tap for the Feb. 18 march, even the inahabitants of the Outer Rim and Bayous of Dagobah are expressing an interest in coming into town early for the show.
