City Park Drops "Thursdays at Twilight" Lineup


As Fest Season enters the final leg, New Orleans is looking ahead to the popular outdoor concerts that provide our weekly dose of live music. Today, City park dropped the lineup for their “Thursdays at Twilight” series. Bruce Daigrepont, John Boutté, and the Pfister Sisters are just a few of the familiar names on the roster.


Wednesdays at the Point Drops 2016 Lineup


Wednesdays at the Square are in full force right now, but as season winds down, it’s time to look forward to Wednesdays at the Point. The popular series in Algiers Point dropped their 2016 schedule today.

Sidney Torres’ flirtation with the boob tube may not be over. THR broke the news that Fox is developing a television series based on a NYT articles about SDT titled, “Who Runs the Streets of New Orleans.” Unlike, the ill fated Trashmen, the new drama will not be a reality show meaning the Trashanova won’t receive screen time.


Leon Blanda Cracks Up

Mental health is no laughing matter. Well, sometimes it is a laughing matter. This Friday (7.17), New Orleans comedians are teaming up with the Mental Health Channel for the season finale of the Nola edition of Cracking Up. The series has followed ten comics and their journeys with mental health leading up to this final comedy competition at the House of Blues. 


HBO Mines NOVAC for Quarry


HBO is striving to interact with the community beyond tying up traffic with shoots. The production and distribution giant is teaming up with local film training nonprofit, NOVAC to offer some on-job training. A new program launched jointly by the two entities will offer paid internships on the set of HBO’s NOLA shot production Quarry.


Mayor Mitch Ups the Ante


Tonight, the Pelicans will face the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of their playoff series. The promise of post season hoops was not enough for Mayor Mitch though. Instead, Landrieu had to put some skin in the game. Eschewing the bookies, the challenge was issued directly to Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf.

For viewers who were upset that SNL’s “Maine Justice” was not a documentary, good news arrived when WikiLeaks posted the hacked Sony Archives. Along with executive salaries and a script for the next Bond film were plans for a courtroom-TV show starring ragin’ Cajun politico James Carville.


Yeah, Foo Right: HBO Announces Dates for Grohl's Sonic Highways


NOLA is once again at the center of a HBO program. The network announced early air dates for Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways. Directed by front man Dave Grohl an eight-part documentary series chronicling the creation of the United States’ musical identity. Naturally, one episode takes place here in Louisiana.
