The 4th Thursday of the month has passed, but there are still leftovers in the fridge and a full weekend of Thanksgiving fun. Space-giving is the theme of the 8th annual, 24-hour Drawathon. The Bayou Classic kicks off today at the Dome, and Katey Red is headlining Thanksgiving Bounce night at Siberia. Kick off the day with some fall fashion, or head to Central City and celebrate the neighborhood with music, food, and dancing for today’s annual fest. Tonight, the New Orleans Opera Association’s Noah’s Flood continues at Trinity Church, and Of Montreal is making a NOLA tour stop in the Warehouse District. On this day in 1972, two black students at Southern University in Baton Rouge, members of the group Students United, were fatally shot during a confrontation with police officers. Blues and BBQ continues rain or shine in Lafayette Square, but revelers who want to stay dry can check out today’s Irish Film Fest at the Prytania. 'Tis the season for spooky celebrations, with a Halloween Festival at the Healing Center and a Once Bitten Masquerade for the New Orleans Opera Association. On the West Bank, the pho festival is feeding the masses.
