NoDef revisits this year's news of the weird: Russell Brand Gets Community Service for New Orleans iPhone Tirade It was a few hundred celebrity meltdowns ago, but you may remember Russell Brand's arrest in New Orleans back in March, when the actor-comedian lost his temper and hurled a paparazzi’s iPhone through a glass window. Well, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office definitely remembered, as they filed charges against the Brit, leading New Orleans judge Sean Early to sentence Brand to community service today in connection with the incident, according to the AP. Russell Brand Arrested in New OrleansEarlier this week, Russell Brand became the latest celeb to show up on a NOPD police report as a result of his temper. Now, the British actor is the latest to get arrested. On Monday, Brand flipped out on a paparazzoid who was taking a picture of the lewd, rude funnyman on his iPhone. He smashed the photog's camera phone against a building. Today, he ended up in OPP for his troubles. Instead of going to Markey's with Michael Stipe or following Brangelina's gaggle to Verti Marte, Actor-comedian-tabloid Brand appears to have been hanging with The iPhone Snatchers. According to a TMZ report, Brand, who is in town shooting the Diablo Cody-directed movie without a title, was named in a NOPD report Monday after he snatched a smartphone from a paparazzoid in the Warehouse District.
