Canal St. Ruby Slipper to Open this Week

The owners of the Ruby Slipper are expanding their booming breakfast business to a fourth location. Owners Eric and Jennifer Weishaupt began in Mid-City in 2008, then the CBD in 2010, and they brought brunch to Burgundy in the Marigny in November of 2012. Their location at 1005 Canal St. is opening this Friday.

Ruby Slipper Brings Brunch to Burgundy

by M.D. Dupuy

Frenchmen Street is great for a quick bite at Mona’s or tachos from 13, but nearby residents lack options in terms of neighborhood dining.  Local restaurateurs from Ruby Slippers heard the call of the Marigny folk and brought brunch to Burgundy. That’s right, the breakfast favorite opened their third location on the corner of Touro, and they even added a new item to their expansive menu.

If the Slipper Fits...

The Ruby Slipper Cafe, a perennial brunch favorite among the Mid-City set, opened a new location recently in the CBD. Located at 200 Magazine St., the latest Slipper offers the same menu as the mothership, which includes timeless NOLA favorites like Eggs Sardou, and Costa Rican-inspired fare like Huevos Ticos. With the Quarter well within striking distance, mimosa sales only seem destined to skyrocket.
