Jindal's GOP Vision: Gov Takes Party to Task in RNC Speechby William Dilella On Jan. 24, Governor Bobby Jindal made national headlines yet again with his speech given to the Republican National Committee's general meeting in Charlotte. Set as a rebuttal to President Barack Obama's recent statements about policy for the coming term, the 2016 presidential candidate took the opportunity to also call his own party out, even referring to the Republicans as, "the stupid party." The words sent ripples through the party and already began influencing the party platform for the coming session and the next election. Cedric Richmond Avoids Sophomore Slump in Congressional Baseball GameRichmond retired the Republicans once again last night. Though the GOP knew what was coming after his breakout game last year, our local Congressman Cedric Richmond was once again the star in this year's CQ Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game, as the Democrats ended the day where they began: claiming victory. Instead of 5-4, the margin on the field was considerably larger, 18-5. (Full Coverage: Roll Call MLB National Journal) Cedric Richmond Hurls Complete GameTurns out President Obama knew what he was doing when he endorsed Cedric Richmond for Congress. Not only was he giving the House of Representatives another tally in the "D" column, he was giving them an ace. In the annual congressional baseball game Sunday, Richmond, a collegiate pitcher at Morehouse College, took the mound and went the distance, pitching a complete game at Nationals Park. He struck out 13, allowed one hit, and went 4-for-4 from behind the plate.
