Record Store Day Spins Through NOLA This Weekend

This Saturday (4.22), the 2017 Record Store Day will take place at vinyl outfitters across the nation. The 10th annual celebration of indie record stores toasts audiophiles, music makers, the vinyl devout — and, of course, the record stores that make it all possible. Record Store Day brings plenty of new and special edition releases nationwide. The day also provides ample reason to celebrate the local, independent shops that keep the music available.

Virtues of Vinyl

Vinyl is much more than a medium. To the faithful, the record is a religion and every April, a holy day is celebrated. Today (4.18), Record Store Day brings a bevy of new and special edition releases nationwide. The Day also provides a reason to celebrate the local, independent shops that keep the music available.

Local Vinyl Heads Celebrate Record Store Day Saturday

In addition to being the day before Earth Day, Election Day and, of course, Darwin Day, tomorrow is also Record Store Day. With New Orleans certified clinical obsession with old music, we've got a few outlets around town. The biggest bash is going down at one of the world's best (BBC's words), Bywater's Euclid Records. In addition to featuring hundreds of the Day's limited edition releases, Euclid will also host some live music so you can bypass some of the pops and clicks.
