Home in 'da Dome: ULL Caps Season With 16-3 Win Over Nevada

The Ragin’ Cajuns of University of Louisiana-Lafayette (ULL) know what it means to be at home in the dome. On Saturday (12.20,) afternoon, the Cajuns won their fourth consecutive R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The 16-3 victory of the University of Nevada Wolfpack set an FBS record as the only school to win same bowl game four straight times.

Ragin' Cajuns to Spice Up New Orleans Bowl Again

New Orleanians are no strangers to going bowling around the first of the year, and it's all the more exciting when fans have some local stock in the game. For the forth year in a row, the University of Lafayette’s Ragin’ Cajuns are playing in the R+ L Carriers Bowl, representing the Sun Belt Conference in what is often called the New Orleans Bowl.

Before we get to Sugar and Chick-Fil-A, New Orleans will have its day in the spotlight. The University of Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns are set to take on the East Carolina Pirates Saturday, Dec. 22, from the Superdome in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. (11 a.m. kickoff) As always, there's been no shortage of Cajuns in New Orleans this week, and the same was true at the New Orlerans Marriott Friday afternoon as the marching bands and football teams from both schools invaded the hotel for the Bowl's luncheon.

SoLA Goes PrimeTime: Ragin Cajuns, Hidden City Chronicle NOLA Crime, Shrimping Tonight

The season premiere of Treme is a few months away, but New Orleans will still get some prime time attention tonight. The Travel Channel will air a new episode of Hidden City at 8:00CST, follwoed an hour later by the debut of a new reality drama about shrimpers on Discovery Channel called Ragin' Cajuns. According to the show’s website, Hidden City features novelist Marcus Sakey “digging into the crimes that reveal the character of a city.”
