Curious Case Pits Cannizzaro & Star Prosecutor Against Investigator for Public Defender
Taryn Blume is having her trial delayed until August 15th with several key rulings expected before that date. Blume is a staff investigator for the Orleans Public Defender accused of impersonating an employee of the District Attorney’s Office while working on the defense of Curtis Hawthorne in 2014. She could face two years in prison if convicted.
The U.S. Supreme Court and Foul Play at Harry Connick Sr.'s Office
According to the U.S. Supreme Court, the prosecutors who worked for former Orleans Parish District Attorney Harry Connick Sr. didn't show a pattern of skirting obligations that would guarantee a fair trial. But, on at least two occasions, they behaved unconstitutionally, the Court has now ruled.
