The Melvins Will Destroy You

Photos from the Sludge-Metal Gods' Saturday Show

Saturday (4.02) night patrons of One Eyed Jacks were pummeled by the powerful rumble of The Mighty Melvins. Thirty-plus years into their career, The Melvins reminded the crowd of their sonic value and staying power. Dale Crover, King Buzzo, and current touring bass player Steven McDonald delved deep into the band’s discography to dust off gems such as "Eye Flys," "Queen," and "Revolve." The set was peppered with covers of obscure "Green River," "Malfunkshun," and "Redd Kross" tunes. Among the covers played were particularly raucous, rocking versions of Kiss’ "Deuce" and set closer "Halo of Flies" by Alice Cooper. Fans of The Melvins did not leave the venue disappointed.

However, NoDef's  Paulo Steven Diniz sacrificed safety and liver alike to embed amongst the crowds and bring y'all some snapshots of the big fete.
