Orpheus' Capades

Get your ladders ready. Orpheus rolls in just a couple of weeks. In advance of the super-krewe’s February 8th parade, the krewe released details including royalty and musical guests today.

While Proteus and Orpheus began rolling early on Lundi Gras, only Proteus beat the rain. Temperatures dropped as the weather worsened, but that did not prevent loyal New Orleanians from whipping out their umbrellas and sticking it out for Orpheus, the last of the Mardi Gras 2015 night parades.

Parade Planner: Orpheus, Proteus (Weather, Routes, Details)

With overcast skies lingering, it is no surprise that parade goers should prepare for stormy weather tonight at Proteus and Orpheus. Still, the show must go one, and the parades ar planning to roll.

Today in New Orleans 3.3.14

Rain or shine, New Orleans' Lundi Gras celebrations are happening tonight from St. Charles to St. Claude. Dropkick Murphy's are at House of Blues, and Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes are performing Uptown at Prytania Bar. On this day in 1995, LSU mascot IV was put down after 20 years and 9 months, 14 of which were spent representing Louisiana State University. Now, more to do this Lundi Gras.

Up-to-Date Lundi Gras Forecast

Rain in the forecast put a damper on the mobile portion of tonight's Jefferson Parish parades. But the wet predictions won't keep Smokey Mary in the station in Orleans, as the Krewe of Proteus and the superkrewe of Orpheus are still set to roll. Nevertheless, a cold front is stalled over the metro area, and we remain under flood watch through tomorrow. Scattered thunderstorms could be in the area by 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Click through for details:
