Today in New Orleans: 9.29.13

There may not be a Saints game on this New Orleans Sunday, but there's plenty to keep the mind distracted until Monday. St. Bernard celebrates sugar, while Algiers parties down by the river. Meanwhile, NOLA Fashion Week and the WWE show off their strut. On this day in LA history, rock 'n roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis was born in Ferriday (1935).

Today in New Orleans 9.28.13

For the fourth year in a row, NOLA on Tap is offering pet lovers a chance to day drink for their four-legged friends. Across the bridge, Nicholas Payton, the Hot 8 Brass Band, and more are taking to the stage for the Old Algiers RiverFest. On this day in 1868, dozens of black Americans were killed in the Opelousas Massacre. Now, more to do this Saturday.
