Today in NOLA 8.1.17

It's a fine day for music in New Orleans this Tuesday. Rebirth Brass Band will play their recurring gig at the Maple Leaf, while electro-pop star Nite Jewel performs Gasa Gasa. Over on Frenchmen, check out Treme Brass Band at d.b.a. and then mosey up the street to Blue Nile to see locals-gone-big Water Seed. On this day in 1968, Jimi Hendrix performed at City Park. The concert cost $4 advanced sale or $5 at the gate. Though you can't see the Voodoo Child himself, read on for more musical happenings in city.

Electro-Pop Star Nite Jewel Shares ‘Real High’ & Summertime Gasa Gasa Show

Los Angeles-based Nite Jewel (née Ramona Gonzalez) released the title track off of her forthcoming album, Real High. The electro-pop star’s new album will drop May 5 through her own Gloriette Records just ahead of her U.S. and European tour that will bring her to New Orleans in late summer.
