That big orange and purple building at the corner of St. Claude and St. Roch Aves. is set to open for business Sunday. But, for now, you'll have to take your grocery lists elsewhere. Gentilly Woods Shopping Center Goin' to Wal-Mart Thanks to the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, there will be another place for the men of Gentilly to cruise for ladies. Wal-Mart is set to take over a blighted strip mall on Chef Menteur Highway. Residents had once voted down the really big-box chain's proposal for the site. But, they're Wal-Mart.
