Teen Killed in 7th WardA 15-year-old boy was shot to death Monday in New Orleans' latest murder, according to New Orleans police. The incident began about 6:30 p.m., when a group of teens were standing in front of an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Allen Street. NOPD Seeks Man with Info on West Bank Murder (VIDEO)Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man who may have information on an unsolved murder. Eric Hatley was shot several times and killed in Algiers on December 31, 2012, at approximately 1:10pm. Hatley was found in a white Chevrolet Camaro parked in the 2000-block of Cypress Acres Drive. Police Search for Wounded Man in Gert Town Murder (VIDEO)New Orleans police are searching for a man involved in a Gert Town shooting that left a 21-year-old man dead Monday afternoon.The incident occurred in the 4100 block of Washington Avenue around 2:22 p.m., officials said. Police found Kendall Williams lying on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his face and body. He was declared dead at the scene. Man All Wet After Murdering Elderly Woman at Group Home, Police SayAn elderly woman was killed in Gentilly, a car went into the lake and a man was booked for first degree murder early Wednesday morning, according to New Orleans police. About 1 a.m., Ricky Russell, 26, returned to a group home in the 5900 block of Lafaye Street where he was once a resident. He then allegedly hit a 74-year-old woman, who is a caretaker at the home, with an air conditioning window unit and tied a plastic bag over her head. New Orleans Sees 4 Murders in 36 Hoursby Shay Sokol Four men were murdered in New Orleans in a 36-hour period between Saturday night and Monday morning. Shortly before midnight on Saturday, June 9, a 21-year-old man was gunned down on his stoop in Central City. He passed away the next morning in the hospital. Shortly before 1:00pm on Sunday, June 10, a 27-year-old man was gunned down while leaving his apartment in the Palmetto Street Apartments in Hollygrove. He died on the staircase. Shortly before 6:00pm yesterday, a 24-year-old man was fatally shot and a 19-year-old female was shot in the leg in Gert Town. Arrests Made in Bloody Birthday Shootingsby Shay Sokol Leo Riles, 18, turned himself in at the 6th District Station at 10:40am today for opening fire on a crowd gathered yesterday at a boy’s tenth birthday in Central City. A 5-year-old girl was shot and killed. A 33-year-old woman was shot in the face and killed. The 10-year-old birthday boy was shot in the leg and suffered a graze wound to his face. He was treated at the hospital and released earlier today. A 19-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both cousins of the birthday boy, were shot with non-life threatening wounds. Police believe these two male victims were the intended targets, and they have been “less than cooperative,” NOPD Chief Ronal Serpas said in a press conference this afternoon. The two other gunmen are still on the loose. Upped Reward and a Family's Plea for Justice in Murder, Burned Body Caseby Shay Sokol METAIRIE -- Today the family of Eric Robinson – a 41-year-old man who was shot in the head and his body burned on January 7, 2012 – announced at the Crimestoppers headquarters in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in Metairie an increased reward of $8,000 for any information leading to the arrest and indictment of the murderer(s). The initial reward was $2,500, before family and friends of Robinson held a fundraiser to raise the reward. |
