Heroin Bust in New Orleans East


New Orleans police raided a New Orleans East apartment early Wednesday morning and found $100,000 worth of heroin. Cops booked two people, Roland Mason, 26, and his girlfriend Liza Glover, 32, with possession of 200 to 400 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia with the intent to distribute in connection to the bust, according to police.


Man Killed in New Orleans East


A man was shot and killed in New Orleans East on Sunday afternoon, according to New Orleans Police. The 51-year-old man was gunned down around 4 p.m. as he was working underneath his car in his driveway in the 4700 block of Werner Dr., officials said.


NOPD Makes Arrests in Camp St. Attack, New Orleans East Murder


New Orleans Police made two arrests Thursday in connection with separate New Orleans East shootings that occurred in the city within the last year. Officers made arrests in a March, 2012, homicide. NOPD also busted the alleged criminal who is accused of shooting an Uptown man in the chest, invading his home and stealing his car.


Mardi Gras Champagne Thief Arrested After Returning to Scene of the Crime


A robber who made off with thousands of dollars and a couple bottles of Jay-Z approved champagne from a New Orleans East gas station early Fat Tuesday morning violated one of the first rules of Mardi Gras: never let your mask fall off. Marvin Davis, 20, entered Brother's Gas Station (7001 Bullard) just after 5 a.m. Tuesday and leaped across the counter, demanding money.


Robber Pinches Premium Champagne from Gas Station on Mardi Gras Morning


A robber ripped off thousands of dollars from a New Orleans East mini mart on Mardi Gras morning, and made sure to seal up his champagne toast in the meantime. About 5:05 a.m., a man walked into Brother's Gas Station (7001 Bullard Ave.) with a handgun, according to a NOPD report. He jumped on the counter, and pointed the gun to the face of the clerks on duty.


N.O. East Teenager Missing


Keep your eyes peeled for Carlton Morris Jr., a 15-year-old boy missing from New Orleans East. His mother last heard from the teenager, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenic disorders, at 7pm yesterday. She expressed concerns about her son's condition and said he is in need of his medication.


Cop Popped by Man in Cuffs


A man who New Orleans police said was in handcuffs grabbed a police officer's gun, and shot him in the leg Sunday morning in New Orleans East. Damon Jones, 41, was eventually hauled in after the incident, with what would have been a disturbing the peace charge upped to aggravated battery on a police officer. The police officer, who was not named, was reportedly in stable condition.

New Orleans police are once again throwing out the digital dragnet after a brazen burglary. This time a convenience store on the 4900 block of Downman Road found itself relieved of their till and cigarettes after an armed robbery.

Missing Teenager Sought


New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in locating a teenager reported missing from New Orleans East. Mya Foster, 14,  was last seen by her mother on Monday morning. She was boarding the bus for school in the 1000 block of Curran Blvd.


Deadly Motorcycle Crash in New Orleans East


A 42-year-old man died Sunday night in a motorcycle crash in New Orleans East, according to police. About 8 p.m., the man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of his family, was riding lake bound on Downman Road. In the 7900 block of Downman, he entered the left lane, then rear-ended an SUV which was preparing to make a turn.
