NOPD: 3 Murders in 4 Hours

New Orleans police investigated three separate murders over the last 12 hours, marking the City's first violent deaths since the Mother's Day shootings. A woman was killed in Algiers Friday evening. After midnight, two people were killed within minutes of each other in the Central City and Florida neighborhoods, police said.

Woman Arrested for Harboring Mother's Day Shooting Suspect

Those who harbored the accused perpetrators of the Mother's Day second line shooting continued to feel the heat of the law on Friday. After arresting four people for providing "aid and comfort" to Akein Scott on Thursday, NOPD arrested 19-year-old Monique Pepe for harboring Scott's big brother Shawn.

Cop Catches Man Firing AK-47

Even a near miss is grounds for an arrest when a cop is around. Kendell Gibson allegedly learned this lesson the hard way on Wednesday in Hollygrove. According to police, Gibson was allegedly firing an AK-47 from a porch in the 3700 block of Monroe St. Around the same time, Officer John Castelin happened to be cruising by.

Akein Scott Arrested for Mother's Day Shooting

Akein Scott, the suspect who allegedly fired into a 7th Ward second line parade on Mother's Day, was arrested Wednesday night, according to NOPD. The 19-year-old was picked up in the Little Woods neighborhood, said officer Garry Flot, a police spokesman.

NOPD: 110ers Surrender

The 110ers were mostly in custody by the time local law enforcers took to the podium to announce what they called "the most sweeping gang indictment in city history" on Thursday. But a pair eluded the initial roundup of the Central City gang. By Saturday afternoon, however, alleged members Joshua Pittman and Ja'on Jones were behind bars, police said.

NOPD Looking for Trio of Downtown Robbery Suspects (VIDEO)

Whether resembling a young Ron Swanson or hiding under the cover of night, thieves can't hide from the watchful eye of surveillance cameras. New Orleans police are searching for three people wanted in connection with separate Central Business District and French Quarter thefts.

Authorities Gang Up on 110ers, Indict 15

Authorities returned an indictment against New Orleans gang members that they called the largest and most sweeping in the city's history, District Attorney Leon Cannizzarro said this morning. The 51-count indictment was filed yesterday against 15 members of the 110ers gang, which included those responsible for the murder of 5-year-old Briana Allen at a Central City birthday party in May, 2012, Cannizzaro said.
