Man Killed in Gert Town


A man was killed in Gert Town on February 15, around 9:45 p.m., according to NOPD. The 32-year-old victim was shot and killed in the 3200 block of Lowerline Street. 


Murders in Gentilly, Carrollton


NOPD investigated two murders between Thursday night. On Thursday night, two people were killed in a murder-suicide at a house near the Fair Grounds. Later, a man was shot to death in the middle of a street in the Carrollton neighborhood, police said.


Suspect Wanted in Double Murder


Updated 2.8, 2:40 p.m.

NOPD has identified a suspect in a double murder that took place on November 20, 2013. Police are searching for Robert Garrett, 22, who is wanted for Second Degree Murder. 


Fatal Shooting in Algiers


A man was killed in Algiers last night, according to NOPD. Police found the victim in a car with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, around 6 p.m., in the 1500 block of Odeon St. 


Wife Charged in Leonidas Murder


Latoya Francois was charged with the murder of her husband, Clardie Ellis III. Francois, 25, allegedly shot her 27-year-old husband in the 8500 block of Willow St. on June 7.

Freret Murder, 7th Ward Shootings: Jan. 7-12

Teen Wanted for Murder


Updated 3:50 p.m.

Seventeen-year-old Tracy Bell is wanted for a murder that took place at 11950 Hayne Blvd., according to NOPD. Seventh District Officers arrived on the scene around 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Two Killed in Milan Shooting


Saturday night, two men were shot and killed in the 2700-block of Amelia Street, according to NOPD. The shooting took place around 7:45 p.m. One victim, 23, was found dead at the scene, and another, 22, died at the hospital. 


Man Killed in 7th Ward


On the same day police made an arrest for a double murder on Derbigny, a man was shot and killed two blocks from the site of the Sept. 9 shooting. A 25-year-old man was killed today in the 1800-block of North Derbigny St., according to NOPD. The shooting occurred near 2:20p.m., and police are gathering evidence to identify a suspect and a motive.
