Plus, the LPO is going for Baroque with another concert Uptown. On this date in 1865, Edmund Kirby Smith became the last confederate governor to surrender to federal forces. Now, more to do this Sunday. Black Star, Wu-Tang Members to Rock the Bells in NOLA Local hip-hop purists who spent the first half of the summer complaining about Yacht Bounce and Mr. Ghetto are set for some salvation as the dog days approach. Hip-hop's full Rock the Bells tour, which features some of the genre's biggest names (Lauryn Hill, Nas, Erykah Badu, Common) doing their biggest albums, is not stopping in New Orleans. But the tour will give a bit ring to the 504 with two upcoming shows at the House of Blues.
