Galactic's Ben Ellman and DJ Quickie Mart built up a quick following after two servings of Balkan Bounce in their side project Gypsyphonic Disko. For their next project, the pair decided to come back home for Carnival, using nostalgic Mardi Gras classics as a base for a bounce remix.

Friday night, some frequent visitors of the Big Easy will bring new looks to Tipitina's, as two familiar artists will be making their New Orleans debut with DJ sets.

These folks are off and running after a demo, four EPS, and two hit full lengths, numerous smash singles (not to mention honorable remixes of such tunes, aka Passion Pit’s ‘Ghost Under Rocks’ edit) feature film soundtrack fame, oh, and a country-wide tour. Lucky for us, the next stop is Foburg, TONIGHT.

Hola Nola- and Hola Chi-town mashup duo ‘Steve Sleeve’ Reidell Aaron Brink, aka The Hood Internet. With close to 200 remixes to their name, the pair have established a name for themselves.

Hola Nola- and hola storytelling, Chazfesting, Alex McMurray, king of the local music grind, and father of keeping his colleagues in (and around) the Jazz Fest scene. Whether going solo or jumping in with two, three, and four piece bands (hola the Valparaiso Men’s Chorus, hola the Tin Men), Alex has made a name for himself as a man of music and musings, generously sharing words through thought and song.

Because New Orleans is not in the running for a 'Two Dat' victory (although you can still wear your Two-Dat Walgreens bracelet on game day) the Pittsburgh Steelers and Greenbay Packers will fight for number one.
