Anthony Davis Soaks Up History, Hugs at Olympics DebutThe Unibrow has surfaced in London, but it's not for the purpose of getting upkeep lessons from the brow bars and the Scousers. Anthony Davis saw some playing time today as Team USA Basketball crushed France in their Olympic opener, 98-71. A late addition to the team in place of the injured Blake Griffin, the Hornets rookie came off the bench in the fourth quarter with the lead over l'Hexagone well in hand. Afterward, he even got a hug from Michelle Obama. Being the team's only true Center, he may be called to step up as the team faces other really tall guys later in the tourney. But for now he's been learning from his London 2012 mates: Michelle Obama's French Quarter FantasyApparently the shrimp po-boy from Parkway has stayed with Michelle Obama long past that rainy August day in 2010. During a CBS Sunday Morning interview with the first lady and President Barack Obama that aired today, Michelle Obama told Charlie Rose that her vacation daydreams included visions of the Quarters. "...The truth is, New Orleans," she said while responding to prodding from Rose about what destinations top her getaway bucket list. Bobby Jindal's Tofu Tax Tell-AllJustice Antonin Scalia famously tried to defeat Obamacare references by talking a lot about broccoli. But the Supreme Court upheld the law, so now the Republicans opposed to the law are going down a road we didn't expect. They're going even healthier, and using the governor of our unhealthy state as the new point man. Mobama Moves It to NOLAby Arielle Schecter
Miss Michelle is visiting the Croissant/Crescent City to promote her Let's Move! campaign, which advocates healthful eating habits and physical activity. Teaming up with the NFL, Mrs. Obama plans to visit area schools and spread the gospel of NOT GETTING CHILDHOOD OBESITY, SRSLY FATTIES!!! She's been all over the country on this health kick, and between the coffee and the beignets, Lord knows we've got the diabetes down here! Now if only her husband would do something about that poverty issue that seems to coincide (suspiciously frequently) with the corpulence. |
